As this couple vowed to spend their lives together, another memory was made. The house on the beach was built by the bride’s grandparents many years ago and today they got to witness the marriage of their granddaughter on the same beach she played as a child. I’m sure that visions of that little girl were in their minds and hearts as this young woman became a wife. As they walked through the garden to the beach and held their sand ceremony on a table made by her grandfather, richness of tradition continued. Surrounded by others who shared the good times just experienced yet another with this beautiful bride and her new husband. Thank you for sharing it with us as well!
West coast, east coast, all around the country has this budding sportscaster and his future bride been. However, when it came time to say their “I Do’s” – – there was no place like home. Surrounded by their childhood friends and very close family, they chose this beautiful outdoor venue to celebrate their wedding day. When their recessional song began, “Sign, Sealed and Delivered” by Stevie Wonder, all the guest danced their way into the reception hall with joy and smiles! We hope the future holds great accomplishments for the happy newlyweds!
This couple decided that they wanted to be married on the Detroit Boardwalk in front of the Ren Cen. It was a beautiful day–so much so that lots of people were enjoying the stroll . . . until they stopped and realized there was a wedding going on! Little did the couple know that a crowd had gathered behind them quietly observing them exchanging their vows and rings. When I pronounced them husband and wife–the astounded look on their faces were priceless when they heard a roar of applause behind them! When I turned them around to introduce them–they were shocked to see the “guests” attending their wedding ceremony. It was a precious and awesome moment for me as well as the newlyweds.
We met this couple on their fifth wedding anniversary. They had rented a house on the beach to renew their vows. Just the two of them and the two of us and the waves lapping the rocks on a beautiful Memorial weekend day.
They cherished the time to reconnect and recommit leaving the world behind for just a few days. A lesson for all to step back and enjoy what God has joined together and keep your love fresh. As you can see, their renewal was a special moment for this special couple. Keep up the good work and continue to nurture your marriage and it will never let you down.
We just love the twists and surprises that go along with weddings! We were preparing for two afternoon weddings already booked when we received a phone call from a potential bride. She explained that her husband to be worked long hours, so they were going to try to get married in a few weeks during the week. As we discussed her plans, Reverend Tab mentioned the area that the two afternoon weddings were going to be held that day. The bride stopped for a minute, then asked, “can you perform our wedding afterwards this evening?” They had already acquired their license and were thrilled with the immediate option! Needless to say, a lovely backyard wedding was put together within hours and the happy couple were able to exchange their vows that very day! What an amazing opportunity and great spontaneity this couple showed. Blessings to both of you as you begin your journey together!
We always love our weddings at Stony Creek, but, we have our memories from each that make it extra special! This happened to be one of the few super hot summer days in Michigan. When we arrived, the fans were blasting in the tent and we saw the bride sitting on a stool in her shorts and t-shirt trying to stay cool before the big moment arrived. The walk to the gazebo is a rather long one . . . but the couple had arranged for a golf cart to provide transportation to the guests who preferred not to walk. However, the cart arrived five minutes before the ceremony was about to begin so we were amused by the driver racing down and back scurrying to get the guest in place. The bride and her dad made the walk down the wood chip path to her waiting groom. All were alittle steamy, but it was worth every degree! May they find happiness and love and “warmth” throughout their marriage!
Apple Mountain Chapel
Almont New Church AssemblyThe last two weekend weddings involved beautiful historic chapels! There is something quaint about Springtime and chapels and, of course, getting to ring the bell in celebration after the newlyweds have been presented as husband and wife! We have performed weddings on several repeat occassions at various old chapels in Michigan and each one is unique!
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.
