Passing Up/Down the Wedding Gown!

Dan and Tracy in Lindon July 5th 2014 009As I went to talk to the bride and was admiring her wedding gown, her daughter told me that her mom was wearing her wedding gown.  That was a new twist!  How great it was the mom was able to fit into her daughter’s gown and get another wearing for it.  Maybe, when the granddaughter grows up, she can be part of the tradition and wear it also! Dan and Tracy in Lindon July 5th 2014 004 This fun backyard wedding involved a bonfire, music and fun guests and was a most perfect day for the newlyweds!

Five Times to Get IT Right!

Castle Wedding And Uris 041 (1)It’s not what you think–this is not the fifth time this couple have been married, but it is the fifth time they were married to each other!  It started as a joke, but then, it became a fun tradition.  They got married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator–twice at the Renaissance Festival and once by “Friar Tuck” at a costume party!  It was such fun to pronounce them truly and legally married in the fifth and final ceremony!  Since you two decided to tie the knot five times, I would say that you are going to make it last.  Looking forward to their vow renewals in the future!Party (1)

The Addams Family . . dah, dah, dah, dah (snap) (snap)

Kim and Fred Wedding 030 Kim and Fred Wedding 031The bride was crying prior to the ceremony that she so much had wanted for her brother, who was in the military,  to give her away, but he just didn’t make it in time.  Two minutes before the wedding began, in ran her brother!  Such joy was on the bride’s face and here is a picture of him giving her away.  Needless to say, you have probably gathered that the groom’s last name is Adams . . . what a fitting recessional song for grins and giggles–they had the DJ play the them to “THE ADDAMS FAMILY” and everyone snapped their fingers in unison!  A great day had by all!Kim and Fred Wedding 008

Surprise! We are getting married today!

Memorial Day Weekend weddings 2013 024We just love the twists and surprises that go along with weddings! We were preparing for two afternoon weddings already booked when we received a phone call from a potential bride. She explained that her husband to be worked long hours, so they were going to try to get married in a few weeks during the week. As we discussed her plans, Reverend Tab mentioned the area that the two afternoon weddings were going to be held that day. The bride stopped for a minute, then asked, “can you perform our wedding afterwards this evening?” They had already acquired their license and were thrilled with the immediate option! Needless to say, a lovely backyard wedding was put together within hours and the happy couple were able to exchange their vows that very day! What an amazing opportunity and great spontaneity this couple showed. Blessings to both of you as you begin your journey together!

Sunset Splendor

We love all the weddings we are a part of, but there is something really serene about backyard nuptials.  Maybe it is the relaxed atmosphere or just the simplicity of it all.  This was a sunset wedding and what it made it extra special was that the bride was the sister of the very first wedding I ever performed . . .  what a great testimony to be a part of two weddings for one family.  God Bless you two with love and laughter forever!
